RBC Foundation Donation of $90,000 to New Path Youth and Family Services Means Expanding Mental Health Services to Children and Youth in Barrie and Midland

RBC Foundation donation

RBC Foundation has donated $90,000 to New Path Youth and Family Services (New Path) to expand their child and youth mental health Walk-In Clinics in Barrie and Midland. These two locations have experienced significant increases in the number of visitors and the funds will ensure that children, youth and their families continue to have timely access to mental health services.

“We have seen a large increase in the use of our walk-in clinics in both Barrie and Midland and want to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of children, youth and their families in these communities,”  says Glen Newby, CEO of New Path Youth and Family Services. “We are so grateful for the ongoing support of RBC Foundation. This donation means that we can see at least 250 more clients this year and continue to keep pace with the demand for quality and timely mental health services. And because we all know mental health can’t wait, we couldn’t be happier.”

Walk-In Clinics provide mental health counselling for children and youth up to age 18 and their families and can be the first step to accessing a full-range of other available mental health supports at New Path.

“The RBC Youth Mental Well-Being Project is our commitment to support programs that help youth and families access the right care at the right time, a critical area identified by parents, youth and experts,” says Frank Berdan, Vice-President Barrie-Muskoka and North Central Commercial Financial Services, RBC Royal Bank. “We know that helping youth reach their full potential is an important investment and New Path plays such a critical role – not only in the amazing work they do in helping children and youth but also how they bring a community together to support an issue.”
