Healthy, thriving and connected communities that support personal growth and well-being

New Path offers a free range of child and youth mental health services in-person, by-phone or online. Through leadership and partnerships, we ensure that children and youth have integrated, accessible, and inclusive mental health services when and where they need them.

New Path was formed in 2000 as a result of an amalgamation of four child and youth mental health service providers across Simcoe County. The original vision of the amalgamation remains as true today as it did in the late 90’s, and is reflected in New Path’s current vision of healthy, thriving and connected communities that support personal growth and well-being.

Our Strategic Plan

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

New Path is committed to prioritizing and integrating principles of equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI) and belonging in its service delivery and communication. Our strategic plan has four pillars: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; Partners; Programs; and People. These pillars set the foundation for our efforts to move towards our vision of healthy, thriving communities that support personal growth and wellbeing and achieve our mission: Through leadership and partnerships, we ensure that children and youth have integrated, accessible, and inclusive mental health services when and where they need them.

To support New Path’s commitment to EDI and belonging, we seek to partner and collaborate with organizations that support this commitment. One recent example is the development of a new service pathway with Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services to ensure equitable access to services for Indigenous children, youth, and families to our Child and Teen Parent Success Programs. New Path also continues to participate in and collaborate with the Indigenous Service Agency Advisory Circle to ensure service and access equity.

Internally, our EDI team works to broaden our knowledge and perspectives through initiatives and activities such as an EDI calendar, an inclusive language guide and a virtual EDI library.

To ensure that all children, youth and their families have timely access to mental health support, our services are free of charge and available in-person, online, and by phone. Children, youth, their families and caregivers can book an appointment online, or if they don’t have online access by calling us at 705-725-7656, on a day and time that is convenient for them.

  • Ensure integrated access is available for counselling and therapy services at a minimum;
  • Develop an integrated crisis system;
  • Begin the process of redesigning the children’s mental health system in Simcoe County;
  • Residential services review and development.
