Laura Kloosterman

Laura has been residing in Simcoe County since 1998. She is a retired police officer with 33 years of exemplary service in a variety of areas including uniform patrol, undercover investigations and a number of special services. She has extensive experience and knowledge of issues faced by members of the community and is a court declared expert in young people. She has a wealth of knowledge in mental health challenges faced by young people, police officers and first responders.

Laura spent 10 years working in the three Orillia high schools as a youth officer helping young adults with various issues including physical and mental health, relationships, counselling, drug and substance abuse, while enforcing the laws and making sure all students experienced a safe learning environment.
