Please join us as we #shinegreen for child and youth mental health across Simcoe County!
Children’s Mental Health Week is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and highlight the importance of providing timely, fully funded, inclusive, and accredited mental health services for children and youth across our communities. The colour green is used to celebrate child and youth mental health as it represents hope, growth, and transformation.
Our goal is to get as much community involvement as possible, and we want to ensure that all families and youth know about the availability of free and accredited child and youth mental health services when and where they need them.
We encourage you to participate by:
- wearing a green ribbon and/or the colour green (ribbons have been or will be distributed to each office location)
- taking part in an outdoor physical activity to support mental wellness
- sharing how you are shining green on social media using the hashtags: #CMHW2025 #NewPath #CMHO #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealth #shinegreen
- tagging @NewPathYFS on: Facebook, X, Instagram

Wonderful turnout for the Hope, Growth and Transformation collage and button-making art workshop!
Thank you to all the families who attended, as well as Magic of Children in the Arts and Collingwood Public Library for the opportunity to share information and SWAG about our free and accredited child and youth mental health supports available right in Town of Collingwood!
Shandelle McCurdie led families through fun, interactive and collaborative art making with a mixed media approach to collage.

Fabulous Turnout at the MacLaren Art Centre Opening Reception
The commUNITY initiative acknowledges Children’s Mental Health Week during the first week of May by providing free workshops with a focus on creating visual art that explores themes of mental health awareness, in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The artwork is being displayed in the MacLaren’s Education Centre during Children’s Mental Health Week in May until early June and will also be displayed at the New Path AGM. A grand opening took place on Saturday, May 3, to coincide with another highly attended youth exhibition, Portfolio — raising the profile of our collaborative community-based exhibition further.
Over 180 people, including New Path Youth Advisory Committee, attended the event. Over the course of four art creation workshops, families, youth and teachers created incredible artwork focusing on hope, growth and transformation with the colour green as its central theme.
