CMHW2024

Please join us as we #shinegreen for child and youth mental health across Simcoe County!

Simcoe County – Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) and New Path Youth and Family Services (New Path) are encouraging residents in Simcoe County to take some time this Children’s Mental Health Week (May 6-12) to learn about the importance of child and youth mental health and to seek out mental health support when needed.

“We are excited to raise awareness of Children’s Mental Health Week this May by Shining Green. The colour green is used to celebrate child and youth mental health as it represents hope, growth, and transformation. Join us by wearing the colour green, taking part in an outdoor physical activity, and sharing your tips for mental wellness with your family and friends,” says Jim Harris, CEO of New Path. “We want everyone in our community to know that help is available and early intervention works. You are not alone!”

“Ontario’s children and youth are facing unprecedented mental health challenges, which are only increasing in complexity,” says Tatum Wilson, CEO of Children’s Mental Health Ontario. “This Children’s Mental Health Week, we are raising awareness of the importance of community-based child and youth mental health care, which helps children and their families access critical mental health support when and where they need it. We encourage Ontarians to have courageous conversations about child and youth mental health, and to learn more about the resources and supports available in their communities.”

Show your support during Children’s Mental Health Week (May 6-12) by:
