Service Delivery Update

Man on his phone

Dear New Path clients and colleagues:

This week our Prime Minister and Premier made announcements regarding efforts to further slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are committed to continuing to provide vital mental health services for children, youth and their families across Simcoe County while keeping the health and safety of our clients and staff foremost in our mind.

As such, New Path Youth & Family Services has made the following changes to our service delivery:

  • Modifications have been made to all counselling, Walk-In Clinic, brief counselling, school-based and youth-justice services. This means that:
    • all in-person counselling services are now offered by telephone only
    • if you are a current client, please call your counsellor to book your next appointment. If you don’t know your counsellor’s number or email, please call us at 705-725-7656
    • if you need support through our Walk-In Clinic, please call: 705-725-7656 or 1-866-566-7656 and a counsellor will contact you to book an appointment by telephone
    • All group counselling is postponed and a counsellor will be in contact with participants by telephone
  • We have adopted measures that support social distancing and additional sanitization efforts in our offices to those staff providing vital telephone counselling services to those in need
  • The Live-In Treatment Services (LITS) program is unique and will continue to run as usual with additional cleaning/sanitizing taking place at that location
  • We ask you to protect yourself by following the Government of Canada recommendations including:
    • washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the washroom and when preparing food
    • using alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available
  • When coughing or sneezing:
    • cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand
    • dispose of any tissues you have used as soon as possible in a lined waste basket and wash your hands afterwards
    • avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • More information on the COVID-19 virus and how to protect yourself and your family is available at: www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19.html

I want to thank all of our dedicated staff for their commitment to our clients at this challenging time. Your continued support of these vital services is deeply appreciated.
