Glen Newby, long-standing CEO of New Path Youth and Family Services, will retire this summer after over 40 years of work in the child and youth mental health sector.
Newby’s career has spanned almost five decades of service to children, youth and their families. In 2000, he became the New Path Youth and Family Services CEO when the organization formed as a result of an amalgamation of four child and youth mental health service agencies. Since then, New Path has experienced significant agency growth, funding support, and recognition, and more recently was designated Lead Agency in Simcoe County. Newby has led New Path through this growth and transformation.
“I consider myself privileged to have been a part of this organization, the Simcoe County community, and the many agencies that collaborate so well together to improve the mental health and well being of children, youth, and families,” says Newby. “New Path is in a strong position to continue this work as a leader in the planning and integration of services from the front line, to continued collaboration with our partners, through to the collaborative governance efforts across agencies”.
Board chair Lyn McLeod praises Newby’s inspirational leadership style and vision. “Glen’s contribution in developing collaborations across sectors and organizational boundaries have led to a stronger service system for children, youth and their families in Simcoe County,” says McLeod. “We thank him for his leadership and wish him the best in his future retirement activities.”
Newby will leave the organization with a strong foundation to ensure its continued success. The search for a new CEO is being led by Four Corners Group.
