Leslie Varsava, publisher of Midhurst Neighbours recently donated $400 to New Path Youth and Family Services (New Path). The magazine also featured, Lisa Hickling-Miller, the New Path Youth and Family Services Manager leading the Walk-In Clinic program, in the May edition of the magazine. Midhurst Neighbours is a custom and exclusive monthly magazine for the residents of Midhurst, Apto and Phelpston. Their mission is Bringing People Together.
“We are working to build a stronger community, and that involves supporting those in need. Through the generous sponsorship of Bayfield Ford Lincoln, we are able to showcase and financially support local charities like New Path that are making such a difference in our community,” says Leslie Varsava, Publisher Midhurst Neighbours.
Last fall, New Path launched Child and Youth Mental Health Walk-In Clinics to combat the long-wait lists for accessing mental health services in Simcoe County. The Walk-In Clinics now also act as the initial intake and referral point to accessing the other services New Path offers.
Alongside the Walk in Clinics, New Path continues to offer a broad range of short and long term counselling services. So, if someone needs additional supports, they will be referred to additional, appropriate service(s) either through New Path or one of our partner agencies. New Path’s goal is for children, youth and their families to have timely, responsive access to the mental health supports they need, when and where they need them.
New Path is pleased to announce that we have made significant gains in combating wait lists and the Walk-In Clinic model is being emulated around the Province.
