New Path Board Member – Kulbir Dhaliwal

Kulbir Singh Dhaliwal is an experienced educator with over 20 years in the field, including leadership roles as a vice principal and principal. He has supported numerous students and families through mental health challenges, including implementing suicide risk protocols and fostering well being in schools.

Kulbir’s commitment to community service began at a young age. At 15, he organized and facilitated a family violence seminar to support families and raise awareness. Since then, he has remained actively involved in professional and community organizations, continuously expanding his learning in areas such as sexual abuse awareness and prevention, bullying prevention, restorative practices, mitigating suicide risk and fostering equity in education.

Kulbir attended school in the Peel region from kindergarten to grade 13 and later spent 14 years working with the Peel District School Board as a teacher and vice principal. In 2018, he and his family moved to Barrie. He was hired as a principal with the Simcoe County District School Board in 2019.

As a father of two, Kulbir is deeply invested in creating a community where all children feel safe, supported and valued. His personal and professional experiences with mental health and well being drive his passion for reducing the stigma around anxiety, depression, and suicide. He looks forward to further contributing to the well being of families through his role on the Board.
