Here at New Path, our volunteer Board of Directors is made up of 15 individuals from across Simcoe County. Board members have an opportunity to contribute to building better futures for children and youth, their families and caregivers in Simcoe County with mental health needs.
Who can join the New Path Board of Directors?
New Path’s Vision of healthy, thriving and connected communities that support personal growth and wellbeing includes everyone. As part of our commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity and inclusion, our goal is a governance structure that reflects the communities we serve.
We invite all qualified applicants to apply including:
- individuals with disabilities

- those with lived experience as a family member of a child or youth with mental health concerns
What should I expect?

Frequently Asked Questions
The board of directors meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month. There are no meetings in July or August. Meetings start at 5:30 or 6:00 pm and run for 1.5 to 2 hours until 7:30 or 8:00 pm. Board members can join in-person or virtually. A light meal/hors d’oeuvres are served at the board meetings.
All knowledge, skill and experience levels are welcomed, respected and valued. We are looking for community minded individuals from across Simcoe County.
We ask that board members sign up for a 4-year term. Board members are also encouraged to:
- participate on one of the Board Committees (Audit/Finance, Board Development, Youth & Family Engagement, Board Governance or AGM Planning)
- share their leadership, expertise and governance experience at the board level
In addition to the standard roles and responsibilities, board and community members are advocates and ambassadors for the organization. Serving on the Board of New Path is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about leadership and governance and wants to contribute to building better futures for children and youth, their families and caregivers in Simcoe County with mental health needs.
