Barrie author, psychologist, researcher and university professor, Dr. Peter Marshall is the keynote speaker at the New Path Youth and Family Services AGM on June 18th, starting at 6 pm.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Marshall has worked in the field of adult, child and family psychology as a researcher, university professor, and clinician.  After moving to Barrie in 1981 to set up a private practice, he became very involved with children’s mental services, including New Path’s residential program.  He also consults to the court clinic in Oshawa and children’s services in Sault Ste. Marie. 

Dr. Marshall is the author of four books, including Now I Know Why Tigers Eat Their Young: How to Survive Your Teenagers with Humor and Cinderella Revisited: How to Survive Your Stepfamily Without a Fairy Godmother.  He is also a member of the National Speakers Bureau, presenting on topics such as resilience, stress management, spousal violence, sexual exploitation, and parenting styles.

The parents of five children, Dr. Marshall and his wife, Kathy, live in Barrie.
