What need is addressed by this program?

The Walk-In Clinic provides a single session to children, youth and families who require support for emotional, relationship or behavioural challenges. This program is offered weekly in New Path offices across Simcoe County. The Walk-In Clinic can be accessed by children, youth and families as often as they require support.

How do I access this program?

Children, youth and families can self-refer by attending one of the walk-in clinic locations across the county. Dates and times of the clinics are posted on the New Path website (www.newpath.ca). This program is intended to provide you with immediate and accessible support.

You will:

• Develop a greater understanding of their strengths and presenting challenges

• Walk away with a plan to address their presenting challenge

What are the major service activities of the program?

The Walk-In Clinic Program involves 3 major service activities as follows:

1. A self-assessment questionnaire to assist the Walk-in Counsellor and client in the development of the focus of the session
2. A counselling session (1 hour in length) that can include an individual or families
3. A written summary of the focus of the session and the plan that families take with them

• Barrie
• Bradford
• Collingwood
• Orillia

Who provides service in this program?

Counselling is provided by a Walk-In Clinic Counsellor.

Is there a cost for this program?

No, this service is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

Walk In Clinic Forms

If you would like to complete your paperwork prior to coming to the Walk-in Clinic, please print the following documents and complete. One parent/guardian questionnaire and either the child or youth questionnaire is required.

We ask that you complete the questionnaires on the day you attend the clinic. Walk-in Clinic paperwork will also be available for you at the clinic, should you need some assistance or wish to complete it there.

Please note on the Walk-in Clinic Information sheet, the requirement is for those in a joint custodial agreement, to have both parties consent to participate in the Walk in Clinic.
