LGBTQ Youth Employment Supports. This program helps 16-29 year olds who identify as LGBTQI2S develop life and employment skills, increase your chances of getting hired, and find community resources right for you.

Bullying and Substance Abuse

Bullying transcends childish acts such as teasing, rough housing or joking around. It can be a dangerous activity with devastating physical and psychological effects. It’s a prominent risk factor for substance abuse and addiction, but the person being bullied isn’t the only one at risk.

Families in TRANsition: A Resource Guide for Families of Transgender Youth

Central Toronto Youth Services published this second edition guide to offer more tools, resources and information for families to have the strongest possible relationship with their trans youth. In a world where there is still significant discrimination against trans people, providing a safe, loving, supportive home and a strong family bond is crucial. Our hope is that this guide will help families achieve this goal.

LGBTQ+ and Addiction

Substance use disorders have a greater effect on LGBTQ+ people than on the heterosexual population. The LGBTQ+ community must overcome several obstacles, including being denied substance abuse treatment because of their sexual identity. However, through the proper understanding and accommodation of LGBTQ+ care principles, substance abuse treatment can be successful.
