New Path Invites Everyone to Shine Green

celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week

NEW PATH INVITES EVERYONE IN SIMCOE COUNTY TO SHINE GREEN FOR CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH

Simcoe County – New Path Youth & Family Services (New Path) is celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week (CMHW) from May 2-8 and asking everyone in Simcoe County to Shine Green. Everyone is encouraged to participate by wearing the colour green, taking part in an outdoor physical activity to support mental wellness and sharing why they are shining green using one of the #shinegreen templates available on the New Path website: www.newpath.ca/cmhw2022. New Path invites everyone to share how they are shining green online using the hashtags #CMHW2022 #shinegreen #kidscantwait and tagging New Path @NewPathYFS on Facebook or Twitter. The colour green is used to celebrate child and youth mental health as it represents hope, growth, and transformation.

“This past year, we saw a surge in calls to access mental health supports throughout Simcoe County – Alliston, Barrie, Bradford, Cookstown, Collingwood, Orillia, and everywhere in between,” says Elizabeth McKeeman, CEO of New Path Youth & Family Services. “We’re really looking forward to seeing all of Simcoe County shining green and working together to build a community of support for those with a mental health concern. Outdoor activities are a fantastic way to re-connect with one another in a way that supports mental wellness. Together we can build Supportive Communities and Better Futures.”

Because mental health can’t wait, New Path continues to offer free in-person, call-in and virtual mental health services throughout Simcoe County for children, youth and their families where and when they need them. Please show your support during children’s mental health week, so no one feels alone navigating these difficult times.
