Application Process for Student Placement at New Path Youth and Family Services

  1. Review student placement program  information section of webpage.
  2. Select a placement opportunity and complete your application online Once submitted, you will receive an automatically generated email confirming receipt of the application.
    Please note: due to the large volume of applications, we are able to contact only those candidates who are selected for an interview.
  3. Participate in an interview with the field instructor.
    After the interview, if you are accepted in our placement program, you’ll need to do the following:
  4. Initiate the criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector search process, if the placement requires this.
  5. Inform your academic program that you will be completing a practicum with New Path Youth and Family Services, the program and location you will be working with and your supervisor’s name.
  6. Inform the academic program placement coordinator that he/she will need to contact the New Path Youth and Family Services student placement coordinator to confirm/approve  the placement and ensure all required documentation is in place; email address students@newpath.ca
  7.  Complete all New Path Youth and Family Services required paperwork and training.
  8. Notify New Path Youth and Family Services student placement coordinator if there are issues/concerns regarding the placements.
  9. Complete the post placement New Path Youth and Family Services student placement evaluation.
